Transforming ideas into innovative market-ready building envelope solutions: a development pathway through labs and real buildings

Main Visual

How do new façade and building‑envelope solutions move from an idea to something that profitably works on real buildings?

The MEZeroE Final Conference closes five years of work on testing and supporting innovation in the building‑envelope sector. The event takes place during REbuild 2026 in Riva del Garda and is organised over two days.

  • Day 1 – Monday 12 May (afternoon)
MEZeroE will be part of the main REbuild conference programme, with a panel session open to the wider REbuild audience.

  • Day 2 – Tuesday 13 May (9:00–12:00)
From ideas to market‑ready building solutions: benefits for housing

A dedicated MEZeroE workshop will bring together companies, designers and researchers for a focused morning of discussion.

The conference shows, through real examples, how companies can use testing facilities, pilot lines and living labs to check performance, reduce risks and make better decisions before going to market. The final session looks ahead, explaining how MEZeroE’s work will continue after the project ends through the Building Envelope Alliance (coming soon ... stay tuned!)

This final conference is both a moment to look back and a practical entry point for anyone interested in testing and developing building‑envelope solutions.
