MOTIVATION FOR PRODUCT TESTING
Assessment of prefabricated wooden envelope on indoor environmental quality for working spaces, complimentary to the results measured within PM&VL8 and PM&VL9.
Product description
Riko hiše's sustainable prefabricated wooden all-in-one envelope components include loadbearing structure, thermal and hygrothermal insulation and inside and outside cladding.
The exterior of the Riko hiše modular house may be enveloped in various façades. The façade type is selected by the client and, in addition to its decorative visual effect, functions as a protection of the house’s structural units. By intercepting the mechanical damage and weathering caused by wind, rain, humidity, snow, frost, solar radiation, etc., the façades protect the house from exterior influences. The façade also represents the visual character of the house. With the selection of a suitable façade and its correct treatment, it is ensured to the client long-term satisfaction.

Building description
1-story building with a 42,00 m2 flat roof with PVC roofing, 96,8 m2 wooden facade, raised from the ground with a wooden platform, doors made of wood-aluminium profile and glass and wood-aluminium windows.
Climate
The modular house is located on the land in front of the office building of Riko hiše. The climatic conditions are those that correspond to south-eastern Slovenia, more precisely Ribnica.
The warm season lasts for 3.2 months, from June 1 to September 9, with an average daily high above 20°C. The hottest month of the year in Ribnica is July, with an average maximum temperature of 24°C and minimum temperature of 14°C.
Internal climate
The indoor climatic conditions of the building are different from living conditions in a brick or concrete building. The natural ecological materials from which the wooden houses are built maintain a healthy climate and affect both the physical health and the psychological well-being of the individual. The air in wooden houses is constantly exchanged, it is sufficiently moist and clean.
Renovation plan
The modular house was built as a standalone modular unit where different facades on the exterior would be applied.
